The mango tree is a traditional evergreen tree that grows up to 20-45 m tall. It has an oval, dome, and an upright crown-shaped stout trunk. It lives approximately 250-300 years with fruits. Its leaves are oblong, linear, elliptical, and lanceolate. It has a wonderful aroma that has a red or purple color when tender, and it grows in dark green. The mango leaves contain a rich amount of nutrition, including vitamins A, B, and C. It has effective antioxidant properties.
Young green mango leaves are very tender, so they’re cooked and eaten in some cultures. Because the leaves are considered very nutritious, they’re also used to make tea and supplements.
The leaves of Mangifera indica, a particular species of mango, have been used in healing practices like Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years.
